1. Inter-island flights Paris - Mayotte - Reunion - Mauritius
During our 5 weeks trip on 3 of the Vanilla Islands, we took 5 flights of the airline Air Austral. The opportunity to test all the classes of the company: Leisure - Economy, Comfort - Premium Economy and Club Austral - Business. Each class has its advantages. We describe them below according to the flights and our experiences.
1.1. Flight between Paris and Mayotte
This first flight is the only direct connection between the metropolis and the island with the lagoon. In 9 hours and 45 minutes of night flight, we arrive at our destination in the morning. You should know that there are also flights with a stopover as for example in Saint-Denis de La Réunion.
We had the chance to fly in business class between Paris and Mayotte on the outbound trip. An exceptional and very pleasant flight with a first class service as well as food and comfort.
It's quite simple, in night flight, the seat becomes a bed. We both slept as if we were at home. I (Franck) even almost missed breakfast before landing. That's to say! And if the kilos in your luggage are still a problem, when traveling in Business class (or Comfort class), Air Austral will delight you with the possibility of having on this flight a maximum of 35 kg in the hold against 25 kg in Leisure class.

1.2. Flight between Mayotte and Reunion Island
This flight lasts on average 2h10 in Boeing 737-800 with the right to take 25 kg in the hold if you travel in Leisure class and 40 kg if you opt for Comfort class. For the cabin luggage, it is 10 kg as on all the flights we took of the company Air Austral during this trip.

1.3. Flight between Reunion Island and Mauritius
The flight between Saint-Denis de La Réunion and Mauritius takes between 30 and 40 minutes depending on the aircraft. Only 231 km separate the 2 dream islands of the Indian Ocean. If you board an ATR 72-500 like us on the outbound flight, you will be flying in a single-cabin aircraft. On the other hand, if you fly in the Boeing, there is a comfort class in the front of the aircraft. In both cases, you will have the right to 25 kg of luggage in the hold. Just the time to have a drink on board and you arrive without noticing! The take-off takes place at sunset, which gives rise to a fire show during the first part of this unforgettable flight.
